Is parking available at the Sheraton Centre or nearby?
Valet parking is available at the Sheraton Centre. The current cost is $50 daily. Please visit the Sheraton website for more information. Please note that parking is not included in the conference registration fee and is an additional cost.
How to do I get to the conference using public transit?
The closest TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) subway stations to the Sheraton Centre are the Queen Station ( walk West from Yonge Street) on Line 1 and the Osgoode Station (walk East from University Avenue) also on Line 1 which is a loop. The Sheraton Centre is approximately a five-minute walk along Queen Street West from each station. If you are travelling on GO Transit from a nearby city, the nearest GO train station is Union Station (TTC – Line 1). From Union Station you may travel via the subway to one of the two TTC stations mentioned above.
What is the dress code for the conference?
Business casual is the expected attire for the conference. We recommend bringing a sweater or jacket as the hotel function rooms are air-conditioned.
Will the conference provide refreshments and food?
Yes – Breakfast, lunch and light refreshments during breaks will be available each day of the conference. A reception with light appetizers and refreshments will be held on Friday afternoon following the formal program. Dinner is on your own. Several restaurants and dining options are nearby. What time should I arrive?
Registration opens at 7:00 AM on Friday and Saturday; at 7:30 am on Sunday. Please build in extra time if registering on Friday morning and estimate 15 minutes to determine and find the location of any session.
I am an exhibitor – When may I arrive to set up?
Exhibitors will be provided with detailed information in a separate communication.
May I wait to register onsite?
While you may wait to register onsite, we encourage you to preregister. Depending on when you arrive, you may need to wait to register and pay onsite. The accepted form of payment is via credit card. Trainees and students are required to provide proof-of-status.
When does pre-registration via the conference website close?
Online pre-registration will be available until the last day of the conference on June 16, 2019.
Do I need to pre-register for the sessions, oral presentations or workshops?
Preselection of concurrent plenary sessions, oral abstract presentations and workshops is not required. Since all sessions are open to all conference attendees, we recommend arriving early for programming anticipated to be popular.
I just want to attend one session. Can I register for only the session?
Individuals wishing to participate in one session only must register for the one-day fee for that day. Only registered participants may attend sessions and participate in conference activities, meals and social events.
WILL FOOD BE PROVIDED AT THE CONFERENCE?
When will I receive my accreditation letter for the conference?
Participants will be e-mailed specific information on how to obtain their letter of accreditation/attendance online two to three weeks after the conference.
What is the cancellation policy for the conference?
Requests for refunds must be made in writing to facmed.registration@utoronto.ca. Only partial refunds will be issued for cancellations requests received up to and including Friday, May 3, 2019. CPD retains a processing fee of $60 plus HST on all cancellations. Due to accreditation requirements, registrations are not transferable.
